MSNBC host of The Cycle, Touré, attacked Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Monday for his role in opposing United Nations ambassador Susan Rice's nomination to replace Sec. Hillary Clinton as the next Secretary of State. And how the Old "White" or Old "Black" Americans have been changing Psychologically or Mentally because of the relationship with the "New Americans".
First, let's observe that the "New Americans" differ very widely of the original populations of their countries of origin. They are healthier and more adventurous than their original neighbors at the start of their lives, bolder and more audacious than their original environment.
That explains a lot about the proverbial Good Health of the "New Americans" and this is confirmed by many scientific studies about Health and Ethnics. As time goes on the new generations start to lose that quality of excellent Health.
Probably the brain of a person that is very adventurous and bold generates endorphins, and other neurotransmitters that drive people to some optimism and activity. At least 20 types of endorphins have been demonstrated in humans. And those that generate brain chemicals of adventure and action may enjoy better health than those burdened by pessimism and depression. So the "New Americans" are self-selected.
The New Americans may like work and dislike war and political turmoil, we are talking of course of many Asians, Africans, Latin Americans, etc .... that have suffered the consequences of War as victims, they may have seen brutal regimes in action, so they dislike dictatorship.
So the New Americans are not going to be enthusiastic about the George W. Bush type of "Invasion and Occupation", they may look physically and psychologically like the victims in those countries of the Middle East and South Asia like Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc .... or the most Arab Countries like Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Syria, Sudan, etc ....
So the New Americans are going to be "Doves" and not "Hawks" applauding the Jingoist, Cowboy, Macho Macho politics of a Mitt Romney, John McCain and the harshest and hardest practitioners of "Send in the Marines" in the U. S. Congress.
So America may become softer, mellower, and sweeter towards other Human Beings of distant nations and less warlike, bellicose and belligerent.
Observe also that the intellectual elites in Latin America have always resisted the power of the Catholic Church and there is nothing like the "American Religious Right" in Latin America. So these new Latinos are appalled by the "Christian Talibans" in America. The same Catholic Church in Latin America has a little of "Liberation Theology" and has become less despotic and tyrannical with time.
Someone like "Rick Santorum" or "Paul Ryan" is difficult to imagine in Latin America. The Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church repels Social Darwinism and Ayn Rand Brutality. The Papal Encyclicals have constantly condemned Plutocracy. Nobody in Latin America believes in being chosen by God to rule the World or having the power of "Exceptionalism".
So a Mitt Romney is hard to imagine in Latin America. And Latin American Universities are probably more atheistic than those in the USA. Religion is almost never mentioned in political campaigns in that subcontinent.
There are more points to discuss : The new Latinos could be more noisy, more feisty and even obnoxious, more familiar or family oriented. They believe in the good possibilities of a Federal Government more than the "American Natives", and so they don't understand the Grover Norquists and other crazies, like the U. S. House Republicans pushing for a Fiscal Cliff Hoax.

Republican Rep. Tom Cole urged colleagues in a private session Tuesday to vote to extend the Bush tax rates for all but the highest earners before the end of the year — and to battle over the rest later.
At a meeting of the House GOP whip team earlier in the day, he made the case that Republicans would strengthen their position by joining hands with President Barack Obama now to give most taxpayers what he calls “an early Christmas present” of ensuring their taxes don’t go up on Jan. 1.
Cole’s position is striking because he’s hardly a “squish” — Norquist’s term for a weak-kneed lawmaker — when it comes to Republican orthodoxy. Cole served as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee and in other official posts within the party.
He might also provide cover for other Republicans looking to make an agreement to avoid a sharp fall off the so-called fiscal cliff.
“I think we ought to take the 98 percent deal right now,” he said of freezing income tax rates for all but the top 2 percent of earners. “It doesn’t mean I agree with raising the top 2. I don’t.”

In Florida, 238,000 more Hispanics voted than in 2008, and Mr. Obama got 60% of Hispanic voters. His total margin of victory in Florida was 78,000 votes, so that demographic alone won it for him. Or consider Ohio, where Mr. Romney won independents by 10 points. The lead mattered little, though, given that black turnout increased by 178,000 votes, and the president won 96% of the black vote. Mr. Obama's margin of victory there was 103,000.
This is the demographic argument that is getting so much attention, and properly so. The Republican Party can hope that a future Democratic candidate won't equal Mr. Obama's magnetism for minority voters. But the GOP would do far better by fighting aggressively for a piece of the minority electorate.
And that, for the record, was the GOP's real 2012 turnout disaster. Elections are about the candidate and the message, yes, but also about the ground game. Republicans right now are fretting about Mr. Romney's failures and the party's immigration platform—that's fair enough. But equally important has been the party's mind-boggling failure to institute a competitive Hispanic ground game.
The GOP doesn't campaign in those communities, doesn't register voters there, doesn't knock on doors. So while pre-election polling showed that Hispanics were worried about Obama policies, in the end the only campaign that these voters heard from—by email, at their door, on the phone—was the president's.
Often missed in talk of the GOP's "demographics problem" is that it would take relatively modest minority-voter shifts toward Republicans to return the party to a dominating force. The GOP might see that as the enormous opportunity it is, rather than a problem. The key to winning turnout is having more people to turn out in the first place.
But that didn't happen. Why? Because the Republicans nominated Willard Mitt Romney. In an era of resentment toward unaccountable financial elites, they put forward the ultimate financial elite, a man who sliced and diced companies, sheltered his income offshore, and, above all, was eye-poppingly incapable of discussing his wealth and the economic anxieties of those less fortunate in ways that might put voters at ease.
The muddle that had clouded the political debate since Obama's inauguration parted. On Election Day, when exit pollsters asked voters whom they thought the candidates favored, a plurality, 44 percent, thought Obama favored the middle class, while 53 percent thought Romney favored the rich. Meanwhile, one in five voters thought that a candidate's "caring about people like me" was the most important quality, and 81 percent of them voted for Obama.
The benefits for Democrats carry forward post-election: as we head toward the so-called fiscal cliff, there is little doubt who's for raising taxes on the wealthiest—a proposition supported by some 60 percent of voters—and who is not.
So Democrats, as you raise your glass on Thursday evening, say or think a thanks for Mitt Romney, who, like the Wampanoag Indians bringing their five deer to the feast, brought a great gift to America: clarity.

In the end, the notion that conservative Democrats (i.e., Democrats who want smaller tax increases and bigger entitlement cuts) must be listened to is nothing more than a bluff, one made with the same goal in mind as the other major bluff at work here—the idea that going over the fiscal cliff would instantly wreak disaster on the economy.
As Jon Chait has explained, the whole point of such fiscal-cliff scare-mongering is to deprive Obama and the Democrats of the leverage they’ll abruptly gain on January 1st, which will enable them to strike a much better deal than Republicans and their allies in the deficit-industrial-complex want to give them.
Likewise, the whole point of arguing that Democratic moderates must be reckoned with is to frighten liberals into making concessions no sane person with their bargaining power would agree to.
Of course, I’m not surprised that red-state Democrats like Mary Landrieu and Mark Pryor, who are quoted in the piece, would push this “heed the moderates” line. Or deficit-hawk groups like Third Way (also quoted). I am, however, a little surprised that Politico has run with this story so credulously.

What will change on January 1 is bargaining leverage. Once the Bush tax cuts have expired, then the two parties can much more easily agree on a deal to pass a big tax cut and substitute cuts to Social Security and Medicare for the scheduled cuts to discretionary spending. As a side benefit, the dreaded Grover Norquist tax pledge will be technically moot. Liberals such as me like this idea a lot. Maya MacGuiness insists it’s awful, awful, awful:
Some political strategists argue that going over the cliff could turn up the pressure on deficit reduction and make it easier to reach a consensus. This logic goes: Once the tax cuts have expired, Congress can start from a different budget baseline, so that what would have been a tax increase on Dec. 31 will be a tax cut as of Jan. 1. I tried this logic on my 8-year-old son, who said: “Seriously, Mom? That is the dumbest thing I have heard,” reaffirming my sense that this kind of reasoning doesn’t carry water.
I have seen people resort to the argument from authority, substituting the credibility of the advocate for any attempt to engage in reasoning. I have never seen anybody attempt this trick when the authority is an 8-year-old.
Obviously, in a perfectly ideal policy world, we wouldn’t need to wait until January. It’s possible we won’t, anyway. Republicans may figure out that Obama has all the leverage, that any deal struck in January will be worse for them, and they’ll offer Obama favorable bargaining terms. But such an outcome requires the GOP realizing that waiting until January is very much a live option. For that reason, both Republicans and the Peterson network are desperately trying to convince America that this would lead to terrifying outcomes.
Most of the people trying to persuade you that the “fiscal cliff” is some kind of ticking doomsday clock for the economy aren’t trying to save the economy or even to ensure the long-term solvency of the budget. They are trying to ensure that the budget deal that does occur lands as close as possible to their own preferred terms.

The Emancipation Proclamation, freeing the slaves—that is, taking them away from the South as property—came in 1863, a year and a half in the past. But, as Lincoln explains in the first cabinet scene, he’s not sure the Supreme Court will uphold the War Powers Act; the proclamation made under the act could be abrogated. The South is falling apart, close to surrender, and the Southern states, defeated, and reëntering the Congress—as Lincoln had always wanted—will never ratify the amendment. After the war, they could reclaim their slaves as property. He wants the amendment to pass before the surrender. The above is a bald summary. Lincoln’s actual explanation, which is frankly opportunistic yet subtle, is far more detailed—a stunning example of principle and power fitting into a legal framework that will make a President’s intentions last as something more than moral sentiment.
Lincoln has the entire Republican vote on his side, though, in the House of Representatives, the support is divided into two groups. There are the radical Republicans led by the sulfurous abolitionist Stevens, who wants complete equality for the Negro and also the South punished and reduced to poverty. And there are the conservative Republicans, led by a prominent civilian, Preston Blair (Hal Holbrook), who founded the party as an abolitionist organization but wants something less than full equality for Negroes. Blair goes on a mission to Richmond, the capitol of the Confederacy, to solicit a peace offer, which Lincoln wants—but not quite yet.

Mind control, mysterious black people, and the GOP. Republican state senators in Georgia attended a four-hour closed door briefing last month in which they were told that President Barack Obama and the United Nations are using "mind-control" practices to force through a land use agenda.
The briefing, organized by state Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock), consisted of a presentation by birther activist Field Searcy regarding Agenda 21, a sustainability plan adopted by the United Nations in 1992. During the briefing, part of which was recorded by Better Georgia, an Atlanta-based watchdog group, Searcy accused the U.N. of using socialist practices to force a relocation of Americans from suburbs into cities, and seeking to implement mandatory contraception to curb population growth, Mother Jones reported. Rogers, who has pushed anti-Agenda 21 legislation in the past, did not seek reelection as majority leader during a GOP caucus meeting on Thursday.
Searcy, who had a falling out with a Tea Party group earlier this year, told state senators that the U.N. and Obama are using mind-control techniques to push the plan, which does not have the force of law in the United States.
Mother Jones reports Searcy's comments:
They do that by a process known as the Delphi technique. The Delphi technique was developed by the Rand Corporation during the Cold War as a mind-control technique. It's also known as "consensive process." But basically the goal of the Delphi technique is to lead a targeted group of people to a pre-determined outcome while keeping the illusion of being open to public input.
Rogers said that he organized the lecture based on constituent requests. Rogers announced on Thursday that he would not seek another term as majority leader, citing a desire to spend more time with his family, though he will remain a state senator.
"I am honored to have served four years in leading the Republican majority," Rogers said in a statement, according to the Cherokee Ledger-News. "After months of consideration I ultimately decided that the toll of serving my Caucus was taking too much from my family"

Our guess is that Mr. Obama thought that both policies would be good for the country — at worst, a confluence of good politics and common sense — just as Mr. Romney saw promises of lower taxes and expanded drilling as in the national interest, not “gifts” to small businesses and oil companies. Yet he seems to view extending health-care insurance to the uninsured as a political payoff to minorities.
“With regards to African American voters, Obamacare was a huge plus,” Mr. Romney said. “You can imagine for somebody making $25- or $30- or $35,000 a year, being told you’re now going to get free health care — particularly if you don’t have it, getting free health care worth, what, $10,000 a family, in perpetuity, I mean, this is huge. Governors of Texas Rick Perry and Wisconsin Scott Walker refuse to set up a website to give information to people about best options to buy Health Care Insurance ( Private Sector Insurers ). They do not want to give information to the public because of Hate against Obama and ObamaCare.

Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas said the Lone Star State should be considered a model for the GOP in learning how to be more inclusive. She cited the state's version of the DREAM Act, which allows certain students who came to the country illegally to attend state universities.
She also pointed to the state's next U.S. senator, Ted Cruz, whose family came from Cuba. He's replacing Hutchison following her retirement in January.
"I think Texas is a way forward to show you can be very conservative and talk about the issues that Hispanics…embrace," she said on "Starting Point," adding that many of the state's small business owners are Hispanic. "I think it's doable for sure at a national level if we follow the Texas model."

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) could be facing a civil war within his party over immigration policy after conservative members of the GOP conference took issue with his call for “comprehensive" reform.
Boehner on Friday wouldn’t offer any additional details on how he would accomplish such a massive policy change.
“I’m not going to get into any of the details of how you would get there — it’s just time to get the job done," he told reporters at a press conference at the Capitol.
Boehner told ABC News on Thursday that the issue of immigration reform “has been around far too long … a comprehensive approach is long overdue.”
He added that "I’m confident that the president, myself, others can find the common ground to take care of this issue once and for all."
But several conservative lawmakers took issue with the Speaker's words.
On Friday morning, Louisiana Rep. John Fleming (R) issued a statement urging Boehner to “talk with House Republicans before making pledges on the national news.”
Fleming said “I’m concerned that Speaker Boehner is getting ahead of House Republicans when he commits to getting a ‘comprehensive approach’ to immigration taken care of ‘once and for all.’ There’s been zero discussion of this issue within the conference.”
And Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), one of the most conservative members of the GOP conference, slammed Republicans for considering citizenship for illegal immigrants.
"Obama voters chose dependency over Liberty. Now establishment R's want citizenship for illegals. You can't beat Santa Claus with amnesty," he tweeted on Friday.
