VIDEO, Rachel Maddow, While Obama, very relaxed and joyful stumps in Ohio, makes big jokes about Clint Eastwood and Ohio Governor, --- Mitt Romney is too busy in lake boats and jet skiing

.

Beware Mitt Romney, because Barack Obama is the Greatest Campaigner and he enjoys it, and laughs and everybody laughs and is astonished at Obama's Speech Stunts ! - And Obama defends Unions and Workers Rights.

And President Eisenhower called "very stupid" the anti-Union policies of Mitt Romney to destroy Unions and diminish their rights. President Eisenhower attacked the small groups inside the Republican Party that wanted Union Busting.

Bill Clinton Speech At Democratic Convention: GOP 'Built' National Debt

Some excerpts :

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bill Clinton fired up the Arkansas delegation at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, blasting Republicans for piling up the national debt and giving a preview of the speech he will give to the full convention on Wednesday.

"This economy that [President Obama] inherited was profoundly ruined. Nobody who's ever served -- no one, including me -- has ever been expected to turn it around overnight," Clinton said. "The economy failed and hit bottom six months after Republicans took office. Nine percent. That's almost Depression-level shrinkage. And I'll give you the details tomorrow night, but that's quite a blow."

"And it was really interesting to me that when [Obama] was trying so hard to put Americans back to work -- two full years before the election -- the Senate Republican leader said that their number one goal was not to put America back to work, it was to put the president out of work," he added.

Clinton spoke to several hundred attendees at a fundraiser in his honor, sponsored by the Arkansas Democratic Party. Actors Adrian Grenier and Ashley Judd, as well as musician will.i.am, also spoke and celebrated the former president. The crowd warmly embraced Clinton as an old friend, yelling, "That's our Bill!" and reminiscing about his time in Arkansas beforehand.

Clinton also made fun of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney for offering so few policy details in his convention speech, joking that it was a good idea because if the American public heard them, they wouldn't vote for them.

Julian Castro : "I have a real competitive streak, in making San Antonio become the best city in the whole country." It’s a message to the crowd gathered at his send-off, and it’s growing up in San Antonio that he plans on talking about in his keynote address. "My real interest is San Antonio."

The New Republic : Julian Castro, Mayor of San Antonio, and Keynote speaker at the Democratic Convention. He is humble, unassuming, modest, unpretentious, not arrogant. That humility may be what the Doctor ordered for the ailing Texas Democratic Party.

Can Julian Castro Make It In Texas?

Excerpt :

Skeptics might dismiss such rhetoric as an attempt to shirk responsibility for the troubled condition of his party elsewhere in the state (in the last gubernatorial election, Democrats carried just 28 of the 254 counties in Texas). But his pragmatic localism may well be a strategy to turn the tide for Democrats throughout Texas. In city government, you deal with the daily “front door issues” people are facing, Diego Bernal, the city councilman from District 1 told me. “It isn’t glamorous stuff,” but it’s Castro’s talent at engaging on this level that people appreciate about his politics.

“My brother enjoys these bigger issues, these overall issues on education, on health care, on transportation,” Castro says of his twin brother, Joaquin, who is running for Congress. Castro’s focus is on “making the right investments” in the community: That’s the kind of thing people care about locally. If they do turn out to be right, that record could eventually help Castro turn the tide for Democrats throughout Texas.

Robert Kuttner : "In the 1930s, when the United States faced a far deeper depression, we built the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, the George Washington Bridge and the first modern highway systems"

.
Robert Kuttner : "we constructed and renovated thousands of public schools, fire stations and post offices; planted a billion trees; laid 20,000 miles of water mains; electrified rural America and undertook countless other public works projects. And when the early projects were not sufficient to end the Great Depression, we doubled down."

What Bernanke Couldn't Quite Say

Some excerpts :

This time around, President Obama in February 2009 persuaded Congress to enact a $787 billion stimulus program that his own advisers considered inadequate, but one that did a lot of good -- for two years. Then nearly all of the stimulus spending petered out. Of the total, the Congressional Budget Office estimated that $718 billion was spent by 2011. And by 2011, of course, Republicans controlled the House so no further stimulus was politically possible.

Today, there is so much public infrastructure in disarray, such a crying need to move the nation to a sustainable energy path, and so great a need for the jobs that could be created by large-scale public investments that more stimulus spending should be a no-brainer. But this alternative is not even being seriously debated. Rather Democratic paths to deficit reduction are jousting with Republican paths.

So here is Ben Bernanke -- a Republican, first appointed by George W. Bush, a huge admirer of Milton Friedman -- saying what no other Republican and too few Democrats are willing to say: The problem is not the deficit, but the risk that Congress will overreact to the deficit.

VIDEO, Interview to the Mayor of San Antonio Texas Julian Castro, he previews his Keynote convention speech - Extremely humble, unpretentious, modest, unassuming, but very articulate, intelligent and shrewd for politics - What is his future ??

.

President Obama has fame of being very cold and distant with those people in his surroundings. But there are some exceptions. Julian Castro is a close friend of Obama, and the President feels very relaxed and at ease with this man. Obama enjoys joking with Julian Castro and has said "Who is this guy ?? - Do I know this guy ??" in the middle of a meeting of several people ??

Obama pretends that Castro is unknown to him, when in reality there is great affinity and friendship, something not very common with this cold president !

What is his future ??

Well, being a friend of the President helps a lot, also observe that the Lady of Univision is extremely proud, happy and elated of having been chosen to interview the Mayor of San Antonio. She is in a bliss !!

If Julian Castro has that effect in a big sector of American Women then this guy has a bright political future. We will see when he gives the Keynote speech at the Democratic Convention.

In North Carolina, Latinos gain in political importance

Some excerpts :

But it's a young population in which approximately 90% of Latinos under 18 are U.S. citizens, and so every year, more can cast ballots.

*****************

North Carolina has an estimated 100,000 registered Latino voters, according to census data, though other groups say the number could be almost twice that. It's a small percentage of the state's 6 million registered voters, but in an election that could hinge on razor-thin margins, a high Latino turnout could matter.

Arizona, North Carolina, Missouri, etc ... are secure ground for Romney, but that is not enough, because they won't give the necessary Electoral Votes for a Republican Presidency.

Look how Nate Silver's Mathematical Curves and Graphs for Obama Probability go upwards and those of Romney go downwards.

It is amazing that the bad moment for Romney in Bets and Polls is happening so close after the Republican Convention.
