Virginia is for Obama (by 1%)

Some excerpts :

Democratic pollster PPP is providing the day’s Twitter fodder for Team Obama, and for good reason: Obama seems to be holding up surprisingly well in Virginia, thanks to rock-solid backing from African-Americans and northern Virginia liberals.

He’s actually above water, albeit in a statistically insignificant way, with a 48-to-47 approval/disapproval split, beats Mitt by six and Newt by seven, which is comparable to his 2008 win over John McCain.

The big news here isn’t necessarily Obama’s popularity, it’s the odor in which the Republican presidential field is held.

Both GOP frontrunners are only in the low-30s approval wise, with Romney 33/52 and Gingrich 31/55.
