.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, said a law like SB 1070 will give police "the right to be judge and jury," which could have disastrous results "in a nation where we all are different."

''In one case, a hoodie equals suspicion," she said. "In another case, it is a tanness of your skin, or the coloration of your skin, or maybe the configuration of your face."

U. S. House Democrats file SB 1070 challenge with Supreme Court

Some excerpts :

WASHINGTON -- House Democrats invoked the name of slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin on Tuesday as they filed a challenge to Arizona's SB 1070, the immigration law to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court next month.

The friend-of-the-court brief from 68 Democrats - including both from Arizona - argues that SB 1070 is unconstitutional because it pre-empts federal authority. Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Tucson, led the push for the brief.

But much of the discussion at Tuesday's news conference centered on Martin, the unarmed Black teen killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer who said he was acting in self-defense when he shot the hoodie-wearing youth last month.
..............

The debate moves to the Supreme Court on April 25, when the justices will be asked to decide if SB 1070 is an intrusion on federal authority, as the Justice Department claims.

House Democrats said in their brief that it is. They call on the high court to affirm the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals' decision blocking the 2010 law "because the Framers vested authority in Congress, not the several states, to determine how federal immigration law is enforced."

''Arizona should not be able to usurp Congress's authority through SB 1070," the brief said.

At the news conference releasing the brief, Grijalva said SB 1070 would promote an unconstitutional system of "patchwork immigration laws from one state to another" instead of consistent enforcement throughout the country.

''Whether or not it (immigration reform) has been neglected ... by Congress still doesn't give the authority to the state of Arizona, to the state of Alabama, to the state of South Carolina, to set their own policy," Grijalva said. "This is a federal responsibility."

Rep. Ed Pastor, D-Phoenix, said the issue in the SB 1070 challenge "is to uphold the supremacy clause of the Constitution."

Pastor and Grijalva were joined by a handful of other lawmakers, many of whom said SB 1070 will open doors to racial profiling in Arizona.
.............

Grijalva said :

''When you begin to profile people based on how they look, and you begin to profile people based on that criteria only, the consequences are not ever good," he said.

The "passive virtues" of the U. S. Supreme Court : postpone the judicial resolution of constitutional issues, permitting the political process to address the issues first. NO judicial challenge to the individual mandate until after it takes effect in 2014

.
It wouldn't be very wise of the U. S. Supreme Court to oppose the most important law that the President and Congress have passed in the last years. It would be governing from the bench.

Killing Obamacare would be a repeat of the "Four Horsemen" that opposed the New Deal from the U. S. Supreme Court in 1935 to 1937, Franklin Delano Roosevelt could change the court after June 1935 defeating this scheme of "Conservative Judicial Activism" and Roosevelt said that his Justice Enemies were contaminated by "Social Darwinism".

The same could happen if the court kills Obamacare and Obama is reelected. "Judicial Restraint" is when the Supreme Court allows the President and Congress People to do their jobs without partisan opposition in the Court. A new Congress and new President is possible in the Democratic Process of Election, in case that the nation does not want ObamaCare.

Health care and constitutional Armageddon

Some excerpts :

So perhaps the justices should take a different course, practicing what Alexander Bickel, a noted constitutional scholar, once called “the passive virtues.” As Bickel suggested, the court is sometimes well advised to postpone the judicial resolution of constitutional issues — permitting the political process to address the issues first.

This route is open here because an obscure federal statute, the Tax Anti-Injunction Act, can be interpreted to preclude judicial challenges to the individual mandate until after it takes effect in 2014. One court of appeals has so concluded — and the Supreme Court properly could agree.

To be sure, the vindication of constitutional values sometimes demands judicial leadership, not deference or delay. Desegregating schools with Brown v. Board of Education is a classic example. But in this case, the political process is neither tainted nor inadequate, and the constitutional issue is closely linked to a legitimate political debate.

Interpreting the Tax Anti-Injunction Act to preclude the individual-mandate challenge would not resolve every issue in the case. But it would defer judicial consideration of the health law’s most controversial provision until well after the 2012 election — just as “the passive virtues” would suggest.

If the justices proceed in this fashion, there may be no judicial blockbuster in June. But come November, unimpeded by judicial pre-emption, “We the People” will have the chance to speak for ourselves.

Poll: Obama leads GOP among independents

Some excerpts :

These improvements appear to be fueled by a slowly improving political climate for the incumbent. President Obama’s approval rating continues to improve, and is now close to even at 46% approve to 50% disapprove. This represents a 5-point improvement over the last six months, compared to a 3-point decline in disapproval.
............

The poll also has some good news for Mitt Romney, that his favorables are slowly on the rise:

Mitt Romney’s image has improved over the last month – 29% now have a favorable view, up from 27% in our last poll. Those with an unfavorable view ticked down by a point to 56%. While these numbers remain problematic, they could signal that he has reached a low point from which he will turn around as the primary season winds down.

Obama is now defeating the Super Obstructive Republicans : "There was no pot of gold at the end of the adult-in-the-room rainbow"... "there were only so many times Lucy could pull away the football" - How Obama changed course

.
"Obama was done being the above-the-fray president, the reasonable fellow who would ease the bickerers of Capitol Hill into compromise. He and his aides had once believed that image was critical to winning over independent voters. Now they had concluded that if Obama pursued substantive compromises but failed (because House Speaker John Boehner could neither control nor defy his tea party wing), he would appear ineffectual. "There was no pot of gold at the end of the adult-in-the-room rainbow," says one former top administration official, "and there were only so many times Lucy could pull away the football."

Obama's Plan to Win Reelection

Some excerpts :

Republicans said no, no, and no to the president's jobs package, but this time Obama didn't throttle back. He plugged away at event after event—mostly in 2012 swing states—offering various either/ors. The nation could invest more in infrastructure and compete with the Chinese, or tax cuts could be preserved for the wealthy. America could protect Medicare or tax breaks for corporations. He would still tick off liberals (killing tighter smog regulations; allowing restrictions on the morning-after pill), but on the economy, he was finally doing what some of his allies had long urged.
.................

Two weeks later, the House Republicans helped make Obama's point for him: They refused to go along with a bipartisan Senate compromise to extend unemployment benefits and the payroll tax cut for two months. But Obama now felt emboldened to confront GOP obstructionism, and the Republican leadership blinked; Boehner ended up embarrassingly losing this game of chicken. Soon afterward, the president would issue a recess appointment for Richard Cordray to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau—in defiance of Senate GOP filibusters. And in a feisty State of the Union speech in January, he laid out the choice: "We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well while a growing number of Americans barely get by, or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot." At stake, he added, was nothing less than "American values."

Obama's new tack did seem to yield political dividends. By late 2011, he scored better than Republicans when poll respondents were asked whom they trusted to handle the economy and even the deficit. Plouffe could barely believe it—he told people it was as if the Republicans were ahead on the issue of children's health care. A core GOP strength had been neutralized.

Yet as they looked to 2012, Obama and his advisers had one key number in mind: No president since FDR has ever won reelection with unemployment greater than 7.2 percent. If the election evolved mainly into a referendum on Obama's economic policies, he would be in deep trouble. But if he and his team could shape it as a choice between two sharply distinguished sets of values, he would have a fighting chance.

The first year of Obama's face-off with the tea-party-controlled House had been ugly. The president had not achieved his main policy objectives. But as he and his inner circle saw it, he had managed to lay the foundation for the decisive campaign to come—and had found his fighting groove. In the face of unremitting opposition, perhaps because of it, Obama realized much of his strategic plan. He could only hope the same would happen in 2012.

The Four Horsemen of the U. S. Supreme Court against the New Deal in 1935-1937 - Conservative Judicial Activism that Franklin Delano Roosevelt condemned as "Social Darwinism" - How FDR changed the court after June 1937

.
The success of the Horsemen in striking down New Deal legislation :

Some academics argued that the Court's aversion to 'regulated capitalism' confronted the country with "the question not how governmental functions shall be shared, but whether in substance we shall govern at all".

The Supreme Court in year 2012 has several hot potatos in their hands like Obamacare, that is Healthcare Overhaul and the Individual Mandate, Arizona's "SB 1070", Texas Redistricting and others.

The Court can use these ticking bombs against Obama, but the result may be disastrous and prompt a bigger number of votes to reelect President Obama.

"Judicial Restraint" is when the Supreme Court allows the President and Congress Members to do their jobs and does not rule from the bench.

Source of Information  :

Four Horsemen (Supreme Court) in Wikipedia

Some excerpts :

The "Four Horsemen" was the nickname given by the press[1] to four conservative members of the United States Supreme Court during the 1932–1937 terms, who opposed the New Deal agenda of President Franklin Roosevelt.[2] They were Justices Pierce Butler, James Clark McReynolds, George Sutherland, and Willis Van Devanter. They were opposed by the liberal "Three Musketeers"—Louis Brandeis, Benjamin Cardozo, and Harlan Stone. Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes and Justice Owen J. Roberts controlled the balance. Hughes was more inclined to join the liberals, but Roberts was often swayed to the side of the conservatives.

Though at first the Court had accepted some of the New Deal legislation over the objections of the four conservative justices,[1] in the 1935 term, the Four Horsemen, together with Roberts and Hughes, voided the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933 (United States v. Butler, 297 U.S. 1 (1936)), along with the Federal Farm Bankruptcy Act, the Railroad Act, and the Coal Mining Act.[4] In Carter v. Carter Coal Company, 298 U.S. 238 (1936), the Four together with Roberts voided legislation regulating the coal industry; the same line-up voided a New York minimum wage law for women and children in Morehead v. New York, 298 U.S. 587 (1936). The Court had also struck down the National Industrial Recovery Act in Schechter Poultry Corp. v. United States 295 U.S. 495 (1935) the previous May. Though the latter decision was unanimous, Cardozo did not join the opinion for the Court (written by Chief Justice Hughes, and joined by Brandeis, Roberts, and the Four Horsemen), and wrote a separate concurrence, joined by Stone, to state the view of why the delegated power of legislation in the code at issue was "not canalized within banks that keep it from overflowing."

The Four Horsemen would ride in a car to and from the Court together to coordinate positions and arguments. They were bitterly opposed to the New Deal policies for unemployment and economic recovery, and they invalidated state laws regulating labor and business relations.[4] The Four's votes kept Congress and the states from regulating the economy.[4] These actions led many observers to the conclusion that the Court was likely to be obstructive to all legislative efforts to cope with the depression, and to remain wedded to the precedents of the Lochner era.[1] Some academics argued that the Court's aversion to 'regulated capitalism' confronted the country with "the question not how governmental functions shall be shared, but whether in substance we shall govern at all."

The result of these dynamics was a steady drift of the Court towards a crisis; the 1935 term was labeled by Justice Stone "one of the most disastrous in [the Court's] history."[3] New Dealers decried the Court's actions as "economic dictatorship", and some communities even hanged the justices in effigy.

It was the success of the Horsemen in striking down New Deal legislation that led to Roosevelt's court-packing scheme. The switch in time that saved nine together with the retirement of Van Devanter in June 1937 and his replacement by Hugo Black ended the Four Horsemen's domination of the Court.[4] Hugo Black and President Franklin Roosevelt considered the Four the "direct descendants of Darwin and Spencer."

Mitt Romney Criticizes Justice Sonia Sotomayor While Seeking Votes In Puerto Rico

Some excerpts :

On Friday, Mitt Romney asked the Puerto Rican people for their vote on Sunday's GOP primary in an open letter to the commonwealth. But on Thursday, the candidate attacked a figure many from region see as a hero -- Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Justice Sotomayor is the first Hispanic judge on the U.S. Supreme Court, and the third female judge. Born in the Bronx, Sotomayor is of Puerto Rican descent.

While the former Massachusetts governor released a radio ad last month attacking Santorum for voting to confirm Sonia Sotomayor in 1998, Romney said for the first time yesterday that he himself would not have voted to confirm the judge.

He then went on to criticize the Supreme Court Justice for being a "liberal jurist."

"Judge Sotomayor and I have very different judicial philosophies," he said in the interview. "She is an activist, a liberal jurist. And I prefer people who follow the Constitution and do not make law as a judge. And so I will support Justices who are conservative and who follow the constitution."

ut in an Op-Ed entitled "Romney, leave Sotomayor out of it" Mary Sanchez, a columnist for The Kansas City Star, suggested Romney should, "be careful who [he] throws under the campaign bus."

Sanchez concluded, "by maligning a public figure with real depth and complexity, Romney's operatives invited thinking people to ponder the essentially hollow character of the Republican front-runner."

Some Democrats are eager to take advantage of Romney’s decision to criticize Sotomayor by pointing out how the candidate fails to understand issues of importance in the Latino community. According to a recent Fox News Latino poll, Romney would only win 14% of the Latino vote if pitted against Obama.

Florida State Rep. Darren Soto (D-Orlando) told Voxxi that Romney's attacks on Sotomayor were, "the latest chapter in Romney's anti-Hispanic campaign."

Romney has faced criticism from Latino advocates for his support for Arizona and Alabama's brand of immigration enforcement, which he calls "self-deportation." He has also vowed to veto the Dream Act, a bill which if passed would provide some undocumented students and soldiers a path towards citizenship. The measure is supported by 91% of Latinos, according to a recent Pew study.

In a press statement released on Friday, the Romney campaign asserts that it "has strong support in Puerto Rico." The candidate boasts endorsements from Puerto Rico's Governor Luis Fortuño, Speaker of the House Jenniffer González-Colón, President of the Senate, Thomas Rivera Schatz, and Mayor of San Juan, Jorge Santini among others.

The Puerto Rican GOP primaries will take place on Sunday, March 18th.

In reality, Seamus' owner lost almost every demographic group in both states. One conspicuous exception was pro-abortion-rights voters. Apparently, they believe or hope Romney is lying about the issue, and that's a virtue. Instead of breaking through and shutting down the race, Romney dragged across the finish line in third place.
.................

The economic argument hasn't worked well for Romney with Republicans who are the descendants of the Reagan Democrats, those who earn $50,000 a year or less; he's lost their votes across the primary season. And for the general election, if not before, the inauthentic, aloof Romney, the job-destroyer and "vulture capitalist" (to use Rick Perry's felicitous phrase), will have to muster an appeal other than his checkered background as a CEO, espeically if the economy continues to create jobs — and more Americans grow more confident in the future and more suspicious of Romney as an avatar and champion of privilege and unfairness.
.................

As for Romney's road ahead, the nomination may be his all-but-certain destination — and destiny — as it was at the start. As for the doubting rank-and-file Republicans trapped on top of the Mitt-mobile: They're the Seamus of 2012. For now, they can dump on the car, but they apparently can't stop it.

The Elephant in the Room

From the Associated Press :

Evangelicals played an outsized role in both of Tuesday’s primary states, underscoring the challenge Romney had faced in the Southern primaries.

In Mississippi and Alabama, 80 percent or more of voters leaving their polling places said they were born again Christians or evangelical. Those voters have been reluctant to rally to Romney’s side in the primaries and caucuses to date.

...............

“Reluctant” — why? Nobody wants to talk about it, but one possible explanation is that Romney’s Mormonism is playing poorly in the Deep South. And while the Constitution is explicit that there can be no religious test for public office, what goes on in voters’ hearts is another thing entirely. Should Romney be the nominee and evangelicals remain resistant, the result will be disastrous for the GOP.

Not only does Obama lead Romney, but more of his supporters back him strongly. Fully 77% of Obama supporters say they back him strongly in a matchup with Romney, representing 41% of voters overall. By comparison, 68% of Romney’s supporters – or 28% of all voters – back him strongly.

Among women, not only do 58% favor Obama, but 47% back him strongly, meaning that more women support Obama strongly than support Romney strongly or moderately (38%).
The GOP Enthusiasm Gap

As voters look toward the fall election, Democrats express more enthusiasm for Obama than Republicans do for either of their party’s leading candidates. To be sure, however, this reflects the internal divisions within the party over who would be the best nominee, with each candidate receiving tepid support from those who would prefer to see the other candidate win.

If the general election is between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, 75% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters say they would back Obama strongly, compared with 63% of Republicans and Republican leaners who say they would back Romney strongly.

As Latinos get better information in respect to Republican Policies, the Romney percentage will decrease and the Obama percent will increase. Other polls give lower numbers for Mitt Romney as an option for Latino Voters.

Latinos do not want to vote for the Party that hates them. - Cenk Uygur says that this is another indication of a Great Defeat for Republicans in November.

Choosing Marco Rubio as Republican Vice-President is a ruse that won't work, because there is plenty of time to explain who Marco Rubio is and to attack his credentials as a representative of Latino Interests. It may backfire for Republicans.

Some excerpts :

"All of which illustrates a tragic truth: even after ten years into this war, one that has cost nearly 1,800 U.S. dead, 15,000 wounded, and some $400 billion, forward progress is barely discernible and relations with America’s two chief allies, the Afghanistan and Pakistan governments, are worse than they have ever been. And that is why both administration officials and members of Congress are saying it’s time to go".

US Soldiers Massacre 16 Afghan Civilians in Killing Spree
US officials have vowed to hold the perpetrators responsible, but there is reason to doubt this
March 11, 2012

Some excerpts :

An American soldier in Afghanistan murdered at least 16 civilians, including nine children, in a killing spree President Hamid Karzai called an “assassination” that “cannot be forgiven.”

Some reports claim there were multiple U.S. soldiers involved, who witnesses said were laughing throughout the massacre and appeared drunk. One Afghan father whose children were killed in the incident accused the soldiers of later burning the bodies.

The soldiers entered a number of homes in two villages in southern Kandahar during the night, killing 16 and wounding nine, although there have been differing reports of the number of casualties. The victims included women, elderly men, and children, one of whom was just two years old.

On Sunday the mother of the two-year-old, Gul Bashra, told the Associated Press: “They (Americans) killed a child, who was two-years-old. Was this child a Taliban (member)? Believe me, I have not seen a two-year-old Taliban (member) yet. There is no Taliban here. They (America) are always threatening us with dogs and helicopters during night raids.”

The shooter has been taken into custody at a NATO base and U.S. officials tritely vowed to hold those responsible for the crime “fully accountable.”

“I am absolutely dedicated to making sure that anyone who is found to have committed wrong-doing is held fully accountable,” said General John Allen. Isaf Deputy Commander Lt Gen Adrian Bradshaw said: “I wish to convey my profound regrets and dismay at the actions apparently taken by one coalition member in Kandahar province. I cannot explain the motivation behind such callous acts, but they were in no way part of authorised Isaf military activity.”

But U.S. soldiers have gotten off easy for such crimes in the past. Eight of the nine U.S. soldiers charged with the 2005 massacre of 24 Iraqi men, women, and children in Haditha, Iraq were not convicted. Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, who was charged with leading the slaughter, was convicted in a plea bargain of a single count of “dereliction of duty”. He was demoted to the rank of private and will serve no jail time.

The “Kill Team” in Afghanistan, the army unit that planned and committed executions of multiple innocent, unarmed Afghan civilians, framing the dead as having been a threat, and mutilating their corpses as trophies received light sentences as well. All but the ringleader of the Kill Team received reduced sentences and are eligible for parole in a handful of years. Even the ringleader, described as evil by one of the other defendants, was sentenced to life in prison, but could be eligible for parole in less than 10 years.

A State Department diplomatic cable released by WikiLeaks revealed last year that U.S. forces committed a heinous war crime during a house raid in Iraq in 2006, wherein one man, four women, two children, and three infants were summarily executed. Not a single American soldier was prosecuted.

In one notable and comparable incident in February of 2010, U.S. Special Operations Forces surrounded a house in a village in the Paktia Province in Afghanistan. Two civilian men exited the home to ask why they had been surrounded and were shot and killed. U.S. forces then shot and killed three female relatives (a pregnant mother of ten, a pregnant mother of six, and a teenager).

U.S. troops, realizing their mistake, lied and tampered with the evidence at the scene. The initial claim, which was corroborated by the Pentagon, was that the two men were insurgents who had “engaged” the troops, and the three murdered women were simply found by U.S. soldiers, in what they described as an apparent honor killing. Investigations into the incident eventually forced the Pentagon to retract its initial story and issue an apology, but none of the soldiers were charged with a crime.

This latest incident occurs as the U.S. mission in Afghanistan appears to be slipping out of control. Unrest has been acute and widespread since U.S. soldiers were found to have burned Muslim holy books in a fire pit, and now that news of this latest killing spree has come out, insurgents are expected to take revenge.

Part of the reason the war has been seemingly unending is because of incidents like this, coupled with the daily suffering that war and occupation brings the ordinary population. The insurgency is impossible to quell because the U.S. has been creating more enemies every day.

There were Journalists from Spain making question too.

Latin American countries should understand what is happening in Syria : Horrible Violence against humble people.

The State Department spokesman Mike Hammer speaks in a very humble colloquial Spanish and seems very friendly, sympathetic or empathic with the journalists. He seems to be best friend with the Journalists.

Mike does not speak "University Spanish" or "Diplomatic Spanish", he learned Spanish with Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata in Mexican Agricultural Fields, that is why he seems like a humble Mexican peasant. .....
, things seem to go very well and the State Department seems very convincing and persuading.

This is an idea of Hillary Clinton, State Secretary.

Topic : Elections in Mexico, Climate Change ....

How to persuade Brazil to more collaboration with U. S. Foreign Policy with respect to the Middle East.

Topics about Cuba and the Pope going to that island. Also a man Alan Gross that is a prisoner in Cuba. Cuban American journalist seem pushy about this topic.

Robert Shrum : 2016 will see the energized Tea-types and President Hillary, President Biden or President Cuomo being very grateful - Obama would beat Santorum in a big landslide - More Probable : A Romney loss, by a lesser margin sends GOP to the extreme

.
"America needs the Republican Party of Eisenhower, Reagan, the Bushes, and even Nixon" :

The Week
It was a Super Tuesday for Democrats
A battered Mitt Romney is still a near lock for the GOP nomination — and that's good news for Dems not just in 2012 but in 2016 too
March 7, 2012

By Robert Shrum
Robert Shrum was a senior adviser on Al Gore's 2000 presidential campaign and chief strategist for John Kerry's 2004 campaign. He has advised 30 winning U.S. Senate campaigns and eight winning campaigns for governor.

It was a Super Tuesday for Democrats

Some excerpts :

Ohio exit polls reaffirmed that Romney hasn't reassured conservatives and evangelicals — or connected with blue-collar voters. Mitt swept New England states he will surely lose in the fall and won in Virginia because Santorum and Gingrich were off the ballot
.............

In addition to Tennessee, Mitt Romney lost Georgia and Oklahoma — and in the Great Plains, he finished third in North Dakota. He won handily in the Mormon-heavy caucuses in Idaho, barely squeaked by in Alaska.
...........................

Next week appears bleak; the big action is in Romney-averse Mississippi, Alabama, and Kansas. His main chance may be in Hawaii; reporting in the wee hours, its votes are unlikely to modulate the outcomes elsewhere.

On the evidence, Romney is a recurringly hard sell in a political party that has morphed, as one GOP strategist privately puts it, into a sectarian religious party — where no matter how he bends to the right, the true believers will not be inclined to him. This leaves him with one tactic — heavy super PAC spending to trash Santorum — the expedient that let Romney eke out Ohio. Only 13 percent of all the pro-Romney ads there were pro-anything; they were relentlessly negative. Such tactics may soon prove ineffective; Santorum not only survived such a blitz in Tennessee, but triumphed over it.
.............

The long contest, the constant pandering, and his own tendency to sound like a political incarnation of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous have taken their toll on Romney as a general election candidate. In the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, his positive rating is now down to 28 percent, and his negative is 39 percent. The erosion continues week to week — and is compounded by real world events. As the economy improves, Romney's rationale wanes: Why do we need an out-of-touch, unlikeable, asset-stripping ex-CEO to secure a recovery that's already underway?

Obama's favorable rating is 20 points higher than Romney's, and his unfavorable is lower. In most polls, the president's lead over Romney is widening. There are the pro forma qualifiers — for example, a eurozone shock to the economy, or a conflict with Iran, which too many Republicans are recklessly inciting. But the prospect of the first seems increasingly remote, and the political fallout of a foreign crisis is unpredictable — except that when one hits, Americans tend to rally around the president.

Mitt Romney losing Minorities, worse than John McCain, Mitt losing white, college-educated voters. Romney appears incapable of capturing the large margins among white working-class voters that Republican candidates need in order to win a general election

.
Super Bad Omens for Mitt Romney :

Add the low turnout and lack of enthusiasm in the Republican Primaries, add the anti-Women sentiment of the GOP ( controlling Women's Bodies ), and most important : add the American Economy that is picking up and Mitt Romney's Triumph in the November Elections seems very unlikely.

Of course I may be wrong and the situation may change, I do not have a telephone to God, and I may be driven by prejudices, inferiority complexes or hatred. I do not have magic powers to know the future and I am a humble foolish guy. I may be one of those "Liberal Idiots" that love and follow "Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama". I may have a lot of resentment and envy of Mitt Romney's billions of dollars.

But look : the "prophetic signs" can not be worse for the Republican Party, these are portents or birds of ill omen flying in the sky ( like the Roman Augurs ).

The Prognostications and Forecasts can not be worse for the GOP or "Grand Old Party".

I am inspired to say that by many polls, articles, notes and comments that I have read and by the Intelligent analyst Ruy Teixeira, here in this article :

Foreign Policy Magazine
Not-So-Super Tuesday
The real winner of the Republican primary is Barack Obama.
BY RUY TEIXEIRA
MARCH 6, 2012

The real winner of the Republican primary is Barack Obama

Some excerpts :

"A just-released Fox News poll -- not usually considered a Democrat-friendly source -- has Obama garnering 70 percent of the Latino vote, compared with just 14 percent for Mitt Romney, an incredible 5-1 ratio"
...............

"The president could certainly match his 80 percent overall support from minority voters in 2008. If that comes true, he has huge leeway to lose white votes. Amazingly, he could approach the levels at which congressional Democrats lost the white working class (30 points) and white college graduates (19 points) in the wipeout 2010 midterm election and still win the popular vote".
..............

That's not a high bar, and right now it looks like Obama will clear it with ease. In fact, it looks like the president could approach, and perhaps exceed, his 2008 performance among these voters.
...............

On Birth Control, Abortion, Women's Bodies, Social Issues, etc :

This hasn't gone over well with voters, especially white, college-educated voters, who tend to be relatively liberal on these issues. And it may be one reason that Romney's appeal among these voters -- despite his so-called moderate views -- may be evaporating. Recent polls show him running at about where McCain did with this group in the 2008 presidential election (a modest 4-point margin) and sometimes worse.

Even more terrifying for the Republican Party, Romney appears incapable of capturing the large margins among white working-class voters that Republican candidates need in order to win a general election. In a just-released NBC poll, Romney's margin among these voters was a mere 5 points, far less than McCain's 18-point margin in 2008 and less still than the 25 points or more Romney probably would need in order to win, given the United States' shifting demographics.

Why Mitt Romney’s Whole Career Is Making His Father Roll Over in His Grave
March 5, 2012

By Geoffrey Kabaservice
Geoffrey Kabaservice is the author of Rule and Ruin: The Downfall of Moderation and the Destruction of the Republican Party, from Eisenhower to the Tea Party.

Why Mitt Romney’s Whole Career Is Making His Father Roll Over in His Grave

Some excerpts :

While both father and son were deeply influenced by their Mormon upbringing, for example, George was more strongly marked by the religion’s turbulent origins. George was born in a Mormon colony in Mexico founded by his grandfathers, who had fled the United States rather than abandon the practice of polygamy. He was one of the 207 grandchildren of those prolific patriarchs. His parents, who were not polygamous, lost everything when Mexican rebels confiscated their property. They returned destitute to the U.S., and George experienced poverty and hard labor while growing up. Mitt, by contrast, was raised in affluence, and the family history of exile and struggle was only a distant ancestral memory.

And while both Romneys enjoyed successful business careers, George’s leadership of the American Motors Corporation (AMC) gave him a very different skill-set from Mitt’s at the private-equity firm Bain Capital. Mitt never attempted to take to the airwaves to try to change consumers’ thinking, as George did in his efforts to sell the public on the merits of compact cars such as the AMC Rambler, or to engage in the give-and-take of slugging it out with unions. George’s flesh-pressing efforts to win over auto workers on the factory floor gave him a comfort with personal interactions with ordinary voters that his son seems to lack.

Mitt’s Harvard pedigree also means that he gets more respect from the media than his father did; many reporters considered George stupid on account of his religiosity and lack of a college degree. But Mitt’s career has isolated him from contact with anyone who is not similarly rich, well-educated, or Mormon. This isolation, combined with his apparent lack of the emotional intelligence that George Romney had in spades, has hurt him politically.

Much of Mitt Romney’s approach at Bain was devoted to overthrowing the business philosophy of men like his father. George Romney made his name as an opponent of Big Business and Big Labor alike. He called for decentralizing economic power and extending capitalism’s benefits to a broad cross-section of society, through profit-sharing for workers and consumer-driven anti-monopoly regulation. Mitt, on the other hand, propagated the view that a company’s sole purpose was to increase shareholder value. His efficiency gospel, reinforced through the threat of leveraged buyouts, preached that the benefits of productivity increases should go not to workers but to upper management. His encouragement of the practice of giving top managers large equity stakes in their companies gave an enormous boost to executive pay packages, so that CEOs now earn more than 300 times the wages of the average worker.

George Romney spurned this kind of self-interested elitism. As AMC’s chief executive he repeatedly refused increases in his salary, bonuses, and stock compensation. He called on Americans to reject self-indulgence and excess, and would have taken a dim view of Mitt and the other principals of Bain Capital posing for a photo with dollar bills bursting out of their suits.

George F. Will : Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum do not seem likely to be elected. Neither has demonstrated, or seems likely to develop, an aptitude for energizing a national coalition that translates into 270 electoral votes

Stopping Obama, one way or another

Some excerpts :

“The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. The next and most urgent counsel is to take stock of reality.”
— William F. Buckley, Sept. 11, 1964

If either is nominated, conservatives should vote for him. But suppose the accumulation of evidence eventually suggests that the nomination of either would subtract from the long-term project of making conservatism intellectually coherent and politically palatable. If so, there would come a point when, taking stock of reality, conservatives turn their energies to a goal much more attainable than, and not much less important than, electing Romney or Santorum president. It is the goal of retaining control of the House and winning control of the Senate.

Several possible Supreme Court nominations and the staffing of the regulatory state are among the important reasons conservatives should try to elect whomever the GOP nominates. But conservatives this year should have as their primary goal making sure Republicans wield all the gavels in Congress in 2013.
.............

Such a restoration would mean that a reelected Obama, a lame duck at noon on Jan. 20, would have a substantially reduced capacity to do harm. Granted, he could veto any major conservative legislation. But such legislation will not even get to his desk because Republicans will not have 60 senators. In an undoubtedly bipartisan achievement, both parties have participated in institutionalizing an extra-constitutional Senate supermajority requirement for all but innocuous or uncontroversial legislation. This may be a dubious achievement, but it certainly enlarges the power of a congressional party to play defense against a president.
..................

This does not mean conservatives should be indifferent to the fate of this year’s nominee, and it is perhaps premature to despair of Romney’s and Santorum’s political aptitudes. Still, the presidency is not everything, and there will be another election in the next year divisible by four.
......

"I speak … about the impending defeat of Barry Goldwater" - "Following gasps, William Buckley exhorted conservatives to embrace reality: "It is wrong to assume that we shall overcome; and therefore it is right to reason to the necessity of guarding against the utter disarray that sometimes follows a stunning defeat"

Buckley's Paradise Lost

Some excerpts :

Buckley displayed similar shrewdness in crafting the magazine’s positions on delicate issues of the day. He boldly excoriated John Birch Society head Robert Welch for splitting the conservative movement with the “extravagance” of his accusatory rhetoric. He did so, however, with characteristic political deftness, only after getting a nod of assent from Barry Goldwater himself. When his staff became hopelessly split over whether it should support or spurn the 1960 presidential candidacy of Richard Nixon, Buckley wrote the editorial himself. Neither supporting nor rejecting the man, he issued a plea, “directed as much to Buckley’s colleagues as to NR’s readers,” for each side to concede that the other’s position fit reasonably within the conservative ambit.

And the authors remind us of Buckley’s brilliance in capturing the zeitgeist at crucial moments. Particularly poignant was his speech to the national convention of Young Americans for Freedom on Sept. 11, 1964—just before the electorate would cast ballots on behalf of Barry Goldwater or Lyndon Johnson. Those in attendance had expected a fiery exhortation to march on to a brilliant November victory. Instead, he stilled the audience with the line, “I speak … about the impending defeat of Barry Goldwater.”

Following gasps, Buckley exhorted conservatives to embrace reality: “It is wrong to assume that we shall overcome; and therefore it is right to reason to the necessity of guarding against the utter disarray that sometimes follows a stunning defeat.” Rather, he said, they must honor Goldwater’s “political nobility” in placing himself and the conservative outlook before the American people. They could do that by “showing not a moment’s dismay on Nov. 4” and resolving to “emerge smiling, confident in the knowledge that we weakened those [adversarial] walls, that they will never again stand so firmly against us.” His words went beyond eloquence to capture just the right sentiment for that particular audience at that particular moment.

Mitt Romney adores the Golden Calf, Mitt Romney insults Asherah, the Shekinah, consort and beloved of Yahweh, that became the Ethics and Morals in later Judaism. Mitt's Hinduistic "Dharma" : business predator, Mormon Oligarchy divorced from common man

.
Gurus and Pundits of Hinduism appalled at Mitt's "dharma". In Ancient Egypt : Beautiful Goddess Ma'at with wings, Symbol of Order Ma'at, Goddess of Truth, Balance, Order... -  Ma'at daughter of Ra ( Light and Truth ), she crosses the sky in Ra's Boat. Moral and Ethical concepts that are the opposite of today's Republican Party and Mitt Romney.

Mitt was educated in cult isolation, business clique, power and money. Confuse Riches with Righteousness, Rectitude and Sanctity, some beautiful qualities that came to us from Zoroastrism and Trough Judaism into Christianity.

Hinduistic Dharma may encompass ideas such as duty, vocation, religion and everything that is considered correct, proper or decent behavior. The idea of dharma as duty or propriety derives from an idea found in India's ancient legal and religious texts that there is a divinely instituted natural order of things (rta) and justice, social harmony and human happiness require that human beings discern and live in a manner appropriate to the requirements of that order. According to the various Indian religions, such as Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism, beings that live in accordance with dharma proceed more quickly toward dharma yukam, moksha or nirvana (personal liberation). The antonym of dharma is adharma, meaning unnatural or immoral.

In Ancient Egypt : Beautiful Goddess Ma'at with wings, Symbol of Order Ma'at, Goddess of Truth, Balance, Order...

Ma'at : Her name, literally, meant 'truth' in Egyptian. She was truth, order, balance and justice personified. She was harmony, she was what was right, she was what things should be. It was thought that if Ma'at didn't exist, the universe would become chaos, once again!

Adorers of Ma'at can not love Mitt Romney, an unprincipled opportunist, hypocrite and flip-flopper that changes opinions in less than 24 hours. He always wants to please the last audience and win the last election by changing opinions like a chameleon changes colors. This guy lacks character.

What the GOP needs is Heartstrings and not the "Heart of Darkness" - GOP please look for the deepest feelings or affections : a tug at the heartstrings, GOP : please play with the guitar of your heart after tuning your heartstrings

"Heart of Darkness" is a novella written by Joseph Conrad. Before its 1903 publication, it appeared as a three-part series (1899) in Blackwood's Magazine. It was classified by the Modern Library website editors as one of the "100 best novels" and part of the Western canon.

"Heart of Darkness" shows the worst of Racism, Brutality, Inhumanity, Power for Evil, for Brutal Domination and Exploitation.

The GOP today is not a beautiful beehive of Honey Bees, but a colony of brutal "Marabunta" ants that eat all other animals, the topmost in predators.

They are Killer and Soldier ants from South America that eat the flesh of people and attack a small town in this Movie "Legion of Fire: Killer Ants! (Marabunta) (1998)".

Mitt Romney ( Virtual Republican Nominee ) paling with racists like Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County in Arizona, paling with racist Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, and with Kris Kobach the author of Brutal and Racist Legislation in several States.

Iberian proverb : "Tell me with whom you hang around, I'll tell you who you are". The kind of friends you have tells a lot about the kind of person you are. Mitt Romney is not a good guy.

Righteousness is one of the chief attributes of God as portrayed in the Hebrew Bible. Its chief meaning concerns ethical conduct. (For example, Leviticus 19:36; Deuteronomy 25:1; Psalm 1:6; Proverbs 8:20). It is used in a legal sense; while the guilty are judged, the guiltless are deemed righteous. God's faithfulness to His covenant is also a large part of His righteousness. (Nehemiah 9:7-8)

Righteousness also relates to God's role as savior ; God is a "righteous savior"; (Isaiah 61) and a deliverer. (Isaiah 46:12-13) The righteous are those who trust that they will be vindicated by the Lord God. (Psalm 37:12-13).
