Gospel Lessons for Republicans : The Rich Man Epulon and Lazarus - Luke 16:19-31 - Eating the crumbs of bread that fell from the rich man’s table - That is Trickle Down Economics or Reagonomics and has never worked. Read HuffPost.

Saint Luke was an Evangelist that wrote a Gospel : -

From Luke 16:19-31 -

19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

Those poor people that vote Republican against their own economic interest should wait until Abraham helps them in Heaven.

From HuffPost : Republican Presidentials will be singing from an economic policy songbook that's no different from the one that got us into this mess : More tax cuts, less regulation, privatize Medicare, cut the safety net, and hand much of the savings over to the wealthiest households

From Huffington Post : -

Obama is compared to a Super Republican Demi-God that does not exist, and that is going to fix the Economy with Magic, unless he uses the same old tricks that have not worked during the last Republican Administrations : the failed voo-doo of Trickle Down Economics : Government gives everything to the Rich in Tax Breaks and other benefits, and the Rich will give a lot of work to the poor and jobs to the unemployed.

And budget tightening and denial of services to the Poor and Minorities has the object of not taxing the Super Rich and the Wealthy, so that Riches fall upon the poor and disadvantaged.

This is like the table of the Rich Epulon ( as in the gospel of Saint Luke ) .... But those Reagonomics have not worked for years !

The rich Epulon who is subjected to the fires of hell, he laments the fact that he did not administer those God Given goods in a better way.

"Nobody" Is a Very Tough Political Opponent

Some excerpts :

This is especially germane on the economy. Obama's potential opponents will be singing from an economic policy songbook that's no different from the one that got us into this mess. Here's a good guidepost: the recent jobs plan from House Republicans. More tax cuts, less regulation, and remember, it was the House Republicans that all supported Ryan's plan to privatize Medicare, cut the safety net, and hand much of the savings over to the wealthiest households.

These ideas tickle the base, no doubt -- though the Ryan plan may prove to be too much for even the party faithful. But it's hard to imagine this policy set resonating with the independents who may ultimately decide the next election.

I have no idea what the electoral dynamics will be a year from now and neither does anyone else. But I do know the president will be running against someone. She or he may be a tough opponent, but they'll be a lot less tough than nobody.
