Obama is creating a verbal alliance with progressives who have been using the term for awhile, like Van Jones' "American Dream" ("Rebuild the Dream") group. If Democrats can create a choice between recapturing that very American idea that people can realize their dreams for themselves and their families, and the Republicans scheme to make the rich richer and corporations more powerful and less regulated, the party may have a slogan that crystalizes the contrast between Ds and Rs -- on our terms.
