On her show tonight, Rachel Maddow checked in on the surprising fallout between former House majority leader Dick Armey and Tea Party group FreedomWorks. Maddow used the friction between the two to highlight how the right appears to be slowly but surely "imploding" in the aftermath of last month's presidential election.

Maddow highlighted that Armey has asked his name and image be taken off any material connected to the organization, and that his agreement to step down from the group included an 8 million dollar severance. Publicly, Maddow pointed out, Armey has called his departure from the group "a matter of principle."
