What America is faced with today is a literal mountain of debt, run up almost single handedly by 3 Republican Presidents - Ronald Reagan and the 2 George Bushes - all of who raised the federal debt to incredible and unprecedented levels during their terms. And now that very same Republican Party is saying "no way" to Democrats who just want to pay the bills those Republican heroes created by raising the debt ceiling. 80% of Americans only care about one thing - jobs!
Nobody really gives a shit about the debt ceiling, and Republicans have never cared about it either - until now. The fact that the Republicans are now willing to let the United States of America default on it's prior obligations, and possibly create a global financial catastrophe if we don't let them get their hands on Social Security and Medicare says it all. Their plan is to destroy the American Dream for working-class people and turn the United States into a 3rd world banana republic.
