.

A recent study found that expanding Medicaid will not just help the uninsured, it would create 231,000 jobs in Texas.

Millions of Texans are uninsured. Our hospitals cannot, and would not, turn anyone away because they cannot pay. Thus we are left with the burden of uncompensated care, straining already depleted resources, and the uninsured are left with a broken system, forcing them to delay care and end up sicker.

Texas is facing a health care crisis and we need your help!

But there is a solution! Watch as CHRISTUS Health CEO Ernie Sadau explains why Medicaid expansion is good for Texas and for CHRISTUS Health.

A quick review of the facts:
Texas has among the highest rates of uninsured nationwide, with 6.2 million individuals (approximately 25 percent) uninsured. Expanding Medicaid coverage would provide health care coverage to an additional 1.5 million Texans.

These funds are your tax dollars. If Texas declines the expansion, your tax dollars will go to other states like California and New York to treat their citizens.
