And there is another problem. The labor force is shrinking. Where are you going to recruit people for labor ?? ... Specially if you have to work under the sun as in Agriculture, Construction, Landscaping, Garbage Collection. Some jobs naturally require young people and are not fit for middle age humans or seniors.
For example disemboweling chickens, poultry, pigs, cattle. This is not for Old People.
Or fighting Al-Qaedas overseas and domestic bad guys in the streets, kindergardens, churches, schools and theaters !
This is the question of the one million dollars : What is America going to do ??
My View : Racism is an important factor in this Confrontation, and also Business, Hospital Associations, Health Care Professionals, Chambers of Commerce and many City Councils are for the Medicaid Expansion. Republican Governors fell in a trap baited for them by the Republican biased U. S. Supreme Court.

"In fact, you can think of deficits mainly as a way to put some of that idle cash to use." :
Excerpts :
You don’t have to be a civil engineer to realize that America needs more and better infrastructure, but the latest “report card” from the American Society of Civil Engineers — with its tally of deficient dams, bridges, and more, and its overall grade of D+ — still makes startling and depressing reading. And right now — with vast numbers of unemployed construction workers and vast amounts of cash sitting idle — would be a great time to rebuild our infrastructure. Yet public investment has actually plunged since the slump began.
Or what about investing in our young? We’re cutting back there, too, having laid off hundreds of thousands of schoolteachers and slashed the aid that used to make college affordable for children of less-affluent families.
Last but not least, think of the waste of human potential caused by high unemployment among younger Americans — for example, among recent college graduates who can’t start their careers and will probably never make up the lost ground.
And why are we shortchanging the future so dramatically and inexcusably? Blame the deficit scolds, who weep crocodile tears over the supposed burden of debt on the next generation, but whose constant inveighing against the risks of government borrowing, by undercutting political support for public investment and job creation, has done far more to cheat our children than deficits ever did.

"Cutting off your nose to spite Obama" : Excerpts :
"At the state level, most Republican governors have refused to set up insurance exchanges, and many have refused to expand Medicaid, which is the primary vehicle for insuring those currently uninsured.
The question, though, is whether governors who purposefully do a very bad job implementing Obamacare will hurt the law or hurt themselves and their states. Call it the California versus Texas question.
Taking Action
In 2010, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California signed into law two bills to establish the online insurance marketplace -- “exchanges” -- that are at the center of Obama’s health-care reform. In addition to being the first state to pass such legislation, California promptly accepted the law’s Medicaid expansion. By this time next year, when the expansion is fully under way, it’s possible that the portion of the state’s uninsured population will have declined from 20 percent to less than 5 percent.
In Texas, the situation is just the opposite. The Lone Star State isn’t lifting a finger to create an exchange, instead leaving the work to the federal government. Texas is refusing Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion, too. “The idea that we would expand and put more money and more people into a broken system is not unlike putting another 1,000 people on the Titanic,” Republican Governor Rick Perry told Forbes. “You know how this is going to turn out. And it’s going to be a disaster.”
One might observe that the health-care system in Texas, which has the nation’s highest rate of uninsured residents at 24 percent, is already a disaster. The recalcitrance of Perry and Republican state lawmakers has the potential to make matters much worse.

In the port city of Tumaco, the Catholic Church reports that Afro-Colombians suffer from abuses committed by FARC and National Liberation Army guerrillas, paramilitary groups, and state armed forces.
FARC guerrillas regularly detonate explosives in populated areas, killing or wounding civilians; military combat operations result in civilian deaths, displacement, and exposure to land mines; and paramilitary groups subject civilians to torture, murder, death threats, and extortion. The situation has markedly deteriorated in recent months, especially for those most vocal about stopping the violence.
My Comment
In Havana Cuba there are "Peace Talks" between the Colombian Government and the FARC guerrillas. The guerrillas have been constantly defeated and decimated in the last 8 years. They can live forever hiding in the jungle. They have lost 95% of their previous power and territory.
The Terrorists, Murderers and Kidnappers are asking for everything in the World and the Colombian President seems extremely naive, foolish, gullible, credulous, easily deceived and duped.

Republicans are like "Mr Wilson", the Angry Old Scold in "Dennis the Menace", that is the enemy of childhood and youth. They have to evolve if they want the U. S. Presidency !
Senator Lindsey Graham ( Republican - South Carolina ) : "The reality is there’s not going to be a bill signed by the president without a pathway to citizenship. That’s just the reality." -
Of course, senator Graham, you are right and President Obama is no fool to sign stupid papers.
Lindsey Graham approves the RNC and Rand Paul on a possible Immigration Reform Bill in the U. S. Congress.
The statements from Rand Paul and the RNC Republican National Committee seem to strongly imply that Congress Republicans should support some generous offer of citizenship, or "Amnesty" as many people say.
Rand Paul is somewhat "crazy" and "odd" but he is a new fresh face and has new fame, possibly to be a Presidential Candidate for Republicans. Paul Ryan on the other hand is a worn and spent figure and has the "stench" of Mitt Romney. The admiration of Payl Ryan for Artistic Poseur Ayn Rand is very laughable and despicable.
I describe Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan as "Those that want to fall upwards" .... The more they lose in politics, the more that they are stubborn, intransigent, fanatic, dogmatic, biased and obstinate in old, failed ideas of Plutocracy and anti-diversity.
Rand Paul made some stupid declarations in the Rachel Maddow Show that imply that he is an enemy of Civil Rights, I don't know if he can correct course and make peace with Black People and Minorities. We saw the Greatest Master of Flip-Flop Mitt Romney getting millions of votes after his shameful turnarounds, super hypocrisy and daily lies. So everything is possible, but only in politics !!
The ruined Venezuela of the late Hugo Chavez; the silence-the-media tyranny of Rafael Correa in Ecuador; the living-dead rulers of Cuba, and Argentina’s economy-wrecking government. The New Pope is not going to be best friend of these corrupt regimes.
New York Post Smearing the Pope Don’t lie to me, ArgentinaMarch 19, 2013
Argentine opinion polls run hugely in favor of the new pope, while the numbers for the president and her economically incompetent and increasingly dictatorial government have been plummeting.
Faced with crushing inflation (about which the regime lies shamelessly) and increasing hardship, Argentine voters have a severe case of political buyer’s remorse.
And along comes Pope Francis, who literally kisses the feet of the poor, who’s admired by his country’s mainstream-Protestant, Evangelical, Jewish and Muslim communities and who rejects the trappings of power and comforts of wealth.
Each May, in Buenos Aires Cathedral, then-Cardinal Bergoglio delivered the traditional sermon during the great Te Deum mass celebrating Argentina’s 1810 Revolution. Even as the government crushed one free media outlet after another, it couldn’t silence the cardinal. He inveighed each year against public and personal corruption and growing totalitarianism. Everyone listening knew who he meant.
The government tried everything, even moving the Te Deum celebrations to other cities. Nothing worked.
Meanwhile, President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner rejected all dialogue with the cardinal, refusing at least 14 requests for meetings. Now she’had to make a pilgrimage yesterday to pay homage to the holy man she mocked. (She tried, deviously, to turn the situation to her advantage by involving the pope in the Falklands/Malvinas stand-off with Britain.)
The new generation of leftist regimes pocking Latin America (the ruined Venezuela of the late Hugo Chavez; the silence-the-media tyranny of Rafael Correa in Ecuador; the living-dead rulers of Cuba, and Argentina’s economy-wrecking government) dread the possibility that Pope Francis will be as disastrous for Latin leftist regimes as Pope John Paul II was for the Soviet Bloc.

Is it better to turn down federal funds and to dump the cost of health care for the uninsured on hospital emergency rooms and ultimately on local-property taxpayers? Make no mistake about it: The health care costs of the uninsured in Texas are a hidden tax on property. Property taxpayers have to make up the difference in the health care costs of the uninsured, or see local taxes go up. I grant you that there is a cost to accepting federal funds. The cost is in the loss of control over health care policy in this state. But, let's face it, health care policy in this state stinks. We have great hospitals, great research, and lousy government. I'd rather put the money in the hands of the people who deliver the services than in the hands of the politicians. I suspect this is what Straus thinks too. Forget the ideology. Show me the money.
I fear that Texas is going to let a great opportunity slip through its fingers. State officials, including Straus, appear to insist on a "Texas-centric solution" before they will touch filthy lucre. Unless Straus's powers of persuasion are superhuman, it isn't going to work. Medicaid is an entitlement program. If state officials insist upon co-pays, deductibles, and other devices that are incompatible with the concept of an entitlement program, the state is going to pick up its marbles and say no, as it has done in the past. Unless things change, the best we can hope for is to squeeze out some dollars that can be used to obtain insurance for the uninsured. Very few things would be more helpful for business—and taxpayers—in this state.
The Catholic Church is a continuous organization that has survived almost two thousand years, no small feat. The secret is periodic reformations and spiritual renovations... Those renovations are not easy, painless or soft. They may be cruel !!
There is a lot of corruption inside the Catholic Church now, pedophiles, sexual predators and other clergy that may have dirty hands in money affairs. Other Vatican officials may be honest and decent but extremely stupid in money matters or policy matters. It will be necessary to sack them.
That the Pope is Jesuit and Latin American is an important factor in the necessary and perhaps cruel events that we have to see and observe.
The Jesuit History is full of discipline, of wishes for reformation and for service to the poor and the downtrodden. This order of Jesuits has no History of Big Corruption or Tolerance with cruelty against those below.
Latin Americans more than any others know that Jesuits take a lot of interest in social matters and that the teachings of the Gospel on Charity and Love for the Poor have not been forgotten by this order of priests.
That is why the fact that Monsignor Bergoglio, son of poor immigrant Italians was elected as Pope is so significant. He has feet in two worlds : European Italian Parents and Latin American Argentinian Millieu.
That Argentina has been martyred by dictatorship, oppression and even Plutocracy has not been lost in the Intelligence and Memory of Pope Francis. That Monsignor Bergoglio was always loved by parishioners as humble but very hard, firm and tough is a Great Plus for the Big Task that awaits him.
So, there is no other possibility but change, with enormous consequences for Latin America, and the United States. Corrupt Government Officials in Latin America and U. S Politicians that serve Plutocrats and present themselves as Catholic should not be happy !....
"Venezuela is now described as "upper middle income" by the World Bank, but it has a far worse murder rate than Haiti -the poorest country in the western hemisphere."
My explanation : Chavez never created Real Productive Jobs, he has only distributed the Oil Revenues of the Nation, the clique that controls Venezuela probably grabs for their pockets a lot of those billions of dollars in oil exports.
Venezuela is a mono-exporter and one of the least diversified in Latin America and the World. In contrast to Colombia, the "sister" neighbor that is very diversified in exports including Industrial Products and Agribusiness.
Venezuela is a Santa Claus Economy where the Government gives gifts to buy support. So the elimination of poverty may be illusory. Those people have no productive jobs.

"Crime is supported by the government," Augustin Reyes, a 63-year-old carpenter living in a "barrio" or slum in Caracas told Al Jazeera, in an allegation frequently made by Chavez opponents. If the situation keeps getting worse, the government must be behind it, they believe.
Abductions increased 20-fold between 1999 and 2011 to 1,105, according to official figures cited by InsightCrime, a security website.
Sources close to Chavez and his socialist party told Al Jazeera that senior government planners generally assumed - like leftists the world over - that crime is caused primarily by poverty and inequality. Address the root causes, they reasoned, and crime will decrease. But the data hasn't borne out those conclusions, leaving many scratching their heads.
Poverty dropped from 50.4 per cent in 1998 when Chavez was first elected to 28.5 per cent in 2009, according to the World Bank, an impressive decrease by any standard. Government supporters credit the redistribution of oil wealth - Venezuela has the world's largest petroleum reserves - for reducing poverty.

A recent study found that expanding Medicaid will not just help the uninsured, it would create 231,000 jobs in Texas.
Millions of Texans are uninsured. Our hospitals cannot, and would not, turn anyone away because they cannot pay. Thus we are left with the burden of uncompensated care, straining already depleted resources, and the uninsured are left with a broken system, forcing them to delay care and end up sicker.

Texas is facing a health care crisis and we need your help!
But there is a solution! Watch as CHRISTUS Health CEO Ernie Sadau explains why Medicaid expansion is good for Texas and for CHRISTUS Health.
A quick review of the facts:
Texas has among the highest rates of uninsured nationwide, with 6.2 million individuals (approximately 25 percent) uninsured. Expanding Medicaid coverage would provide health care coverage to an additional 1.5 million Texans.
These funds are your tax dollars. If Texas declines the expansion, your tax dollars will go to other states like California and New York to treat their citizens.
CHRISTUS Health provides more uncompensated care than any other nonprofit hospital system in Texas; our organization alone spends more than $140,000 each day treating the uninsured. A recent study found that expanding Medicaid will not just help the uninsured, it would create 231,000 jobs in Texas.

“What’s amazing about this bull market is that people still don’t think it’s real,” said Richard Bernstein, chief executive of Richard Bernstein Advisors, a money management firm. “We think this could be the biggest bull market of our careers.”

Maddow reports on how the sequester was designed to be sloppy and
painful to both parties, to motivate them to work together rather than
endure foolish cuts. Now that it's doing its damage, Republicans are
trying to do undo the cuts that they don't like while leaving the cuts
Democrats don't like.

And I was so stupid that I thought that this was the most intelligent Republican and most dangerous for 2016 and the Democratic Party. Now I see this politician as someone that will not be elected president, Never !! ---- Boy, was I wrong !!
Another Flip-Floper for Republican Presidential Candidate ???? -- Wasn't Mitt Romney enough ??? Huffington Post Jeb Bush Book: Undocumented Immigrants Should Be Ineligible For Citizenship By Elise Foley
March 3, 2013
WASHINGTON -- In a new book, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) makes a notable reversal on immigration reform, arguing that creating a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants would only encourage future unauthorized immigration.
"It is absolutely vital to the integrity of our immigration system that actions have consequences -- in this case, that those who violated the law can remain but cannot obtain the cherished fruits of citizenship," Bush and lawyer Clint Bolick argue in a new book, Immigration Wars: Forging an American Solution. "To do otherwise would signal once again that people who circumvent the system can still obtain the full benefits of American citizenship."
The book, which The Huffington Post obtained before its Tuesday release, lays out the two men's proposals for comprehensive immigration reform. Both are longtime proponents of reform, and Bush in particular has long beat the drum for the GOP to take a new tone on the matter.
But the book's treatment of a pathway to citizenship stands in contrast to Bush's previous statements on immigration reform.
Is the Tea Party the more effective conspiracy to harm the American Economy ?? - Robert Reich : "Imagine a plot to undermine the government of the United States, to destroy much of its capacity to do the public's business, and to sow distrust among the population."
Robert Reich continues :
"Imagine further that the plotters infiltrate Congress and state governments, reshape their districts to give them disproportionate influence in Washington, and use the media to spread big lies about the government."
"Finally, imagine they not only paralyze the government but are on the verge of dismantling pieces of it."
My comment after Robert Reich's sentences :
On the other hand, the more stubborn, obstinate, fanatic, bigot and extremist that the GOP becomes, the better for the Democratic Party in order to win next elections, specially the Presidential Election in year 2016.
