POLITICO.COM : Mike Huckabee isn't running for president - A very intelligent and Human decision - He would have faced the biggest political phenomenon of our times : Barack Obama, a monster and ogre eating Republicans

.
Today I love and forgive Huck :

The Baptist pastor-turned-politician-turned-media-personality has made a good business decision and probably an excellent human decision .... A presidential campaign can wear you a lot, and his base of Christian Evangelicals is dwindling in relative terms .....

It is very difficult to defeat the Global President and slayer of dragon Osama Bin Laden with the evocation of the Great America of the Eisenhower years or the 1920s when the World was young and vigorous and Adam and Eve had not eaten the apple. And when God was not angry with human beings.....

Huck's decision opens a window of opportunity to candidates that are not so intelligent, wise and sound as Mike Huckabee : Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and Donald Trump.

Mike Huckabee isn't running for president

Some excerpts :

Mike Huckabee casts big shadow over early primary states in 2012 elections. The fight for the Mike Huckabee voter is now under way.

Huckabee’s decision not to run for president is already scrambling the battle for the GOP nomination, triggering a competition for both his social conservative and economically downscale fan bases, pressuring Mitt Romney to reassess Iowa and leaving a big slice of voters in the caucuses and in South Carolina up for grabs.

Huckabee’s announcement Saturday night, made live at the end of his eponymous Fox News variety show, brought to an end 36 hours of teases and hints that were ultimately meant to generate more interest in a program that will now serve as the former Arkansas governor’s main platform for staying in the public debate.

“All the factors say go, but my heart says no,” Huckabee said after noting his strong poll standing — one final play for the respect he’s felt he was never accorded.

And sure enough, the Baptist pastor-turned-politician-turned-media-personality had scarcely finished his announcement before a measure of respect was given: Jon Huntsman and Tim Pawlenty quickly sent out emails praising their would-have-been rival before the show even ended.

Huckabee’s supporters now become one of the most coveted voting blocs in the still-unsettled Republican contest.

The former governor was at the top of early polling in Iowa and South Carolina and also faring well in many national surveys. His strength can be partly chalked up to name recognition this far out from voting, but his demographic appeal leaves a sizable void in the field: there is now no well-known candidate for Christian conservatives and middle-to-lower income Republicans.
